Three steps

It takes about a minute.

No account, no install, no waiting. Export the chat, drop it in, read your story.

Step one

Export the chat

In WhatsApp, tap the chat name, then Export chat, then Without media.

Step two

Drop the file here

It's read on your device, by the page itself. No server ever sees it, so this works offline.

Step three

Read, laugh, share

A dozen screens, six awards, a verdict and a roast built from your own lines.

How do I get the chat file out of WhatsApp?
  1. Open the chat in WhatsApp.
  2. Tap the contact or group name at the top.
  3. Scroll right down and tap Export Chat, then Without Media.
  4. In the share sheet, swipe across the grey icons and tap Save to Files. Pick On My iPhone.
  5. Come back here, tap the box above, tap Browse, and pick the file you just saved.

Stuck? You can also share the export to any app that keeps files — Telegram saved messages, Notes, your own email. Then open it from there.

🔒Read on your device. Your chat is never sent to a server.

The important bit

Your chat never leaves your phone.

Most tools like this send your file to a server. Scrollback doesn't have one — the whole thing runs on your device.

  • ✓The file is read on your device, never transmitted.
  • ✓No account, no email, no login.
  • ✓The share card is drawn on your device too. Nothing is sent anywhere to make it.
  • ✓Close the tab and it's gone.
